Site Bulletin - Tuesday, February 14, 2006
Thank you for being a subscriber to the FamilyGames.com and TriviaPark.com newsletter.
In 2005 we decided the time had come to split off our trivia quizzes into their own site, for a cleaner structure and easier navigation. Sorting the details has taken some time, but now the main work of retooling is complete, and we're happy now to invite you around for a look at the new place.
At least for the time being, we are sticking with a single newsletter for both sites, mostly to simplify administration.
A "trivia magazine"
We think of TriviaPark.com as an on-line magazine. Like other magazines, the site is regularly updated with topical and general-interest articles, which in our case take the form of trivia quizzes.
Of course, if you've spent time with us, you know that our quizzes are actually by no means trivial - the resemblance to magazine articles is stronger than it might appear at first glance.
To begin with, we design the questions to cover the topic in hand as comprehensively as possible in some logical sequence. We then add detailed supplementary information that provides the explanations and background most other quizzes lack.
For those who don't have the leisure for a full quiz, we now also provide a "quick", digest version of most quizzes, with all the questions on the same page and reduced text.
Publication schedule
At the moment we're adding new quizzes at the rate of about one per week. Here's a list of our new quizzes so far in 2006, in order of publication:
Finally, there's our ever-changing Daily Knowledge Quiz, with a new question to test your mettle every single day. If you're the type of person who likes a daily trivia fix over the morning coffee, this is for you. And if not - well, pop in once every week or so to avoid missing any of the new questions.
Partnership program
Another new feature we want to tell you about is our Partnership Program for webmasters. If you have a web-site of your own, and would like to offer one of our quizzes to your site visitors, please check this out. It's an easy, free way to increase the value of your site with our proven content.
FamilyGames.com
Finally, all the activity at TriviaPark.com has unfortunately not left us much time for the development of new games, but please bear with us, as we do have one or two back-burner projects that we hope to be able to announce later on this year.
